Whitey blew up the board with a maiden turf race last week so we will again focus today’s card on turf races.

Calder

Race 4
6 – Orient’s Tune 6-1 – Making his first start in over a year and getting back on turf, he had a rough trip and can improve 2nd off layoff
7 – Fast Jak – Dueled in a very fast race when trying the turf for first time. May get loose on lead today and wire.

6 – Cat Mistress – 12-1 – Faced tougher at Monmouth last year and gets back on the grass in 3rd try on lawn. Son of Tale of the Cat bred for turf.

7 – Super Doc – 6-1 – Faced muich tougher at Monmouth last year. A lot of the foes he faced in allowance ranks went on to be stakes winners on the turf. Making the 2nd start off a layoff and adding blinkers for crafty turf trainer.

4 Lily Hope – 10-1 – This race will set up for a closer as 6 of the 8 horses want the lead. Lily Hope makes her 3 yo debut and she ran well to a horse name Awesome Feather – who won the BC Juv Fillies. If she is fit, she can close and pick up the money. Calder shippers have a great history at running well at Monmouth.
2- Petrezza – 10 – 1 The other closer in the field who may have a chance to run them down late.

5 –Appian Way – 15-1 Son of Bellamy Road was bet in only turf start 2 races again. BR has produced some bombs on the turf and Whitey thinks the public has been slow to catch on.
6 – NYKID Time to Jazz – 20-1 – Ran good race in turf debut in last. Could be flying late.
